I took most of the weekend off to go to a Y Princesses camp out with my daughter at Camp Casey. Not a cloud in the sky and zero wind was making me itch a little bit to go flying, but I thoroughly enjoyed the time outdoors with my daughter.

We got back mid-day on Sunday, so I hammered out some more of the F-705 bulkhead parts. The instructions on this bulkhead really are sparse. I just clecoed things together and drilled them out where ever it looked necessary. The cut-out for the tip up latch didn’t turn out as nice as I would have liked, but it will work. I now have almost all of the parts for that bulkhead drilled, deburred, and ready for priming.

Deburred some of the F-705 parts. Drilled out the snap bushing holes. Bent the 4 degree angle in the F-705K plate using some blocks, clamps, and a rubber mallet. It turned out pretty good. Looking at where the plate gets installed, it’s better to err on the side of slightly over bending than under bending. When it’s riveted in place, it will get pulled down flush.

Lastly, I laid out the holes on the angle with a rivet fan using the dimensions in the drawing, but will drill them next time.
